RSTP doesn't have listening and learning state. It is directly from blocking to forwarding. So the answer is AC.

i would say classic spanning tree has the following ports state block, learn, listen and forwarding on the otherhand we have Rapid spanning tree which has not too much faster protocols when it has to deal with changes in a network. so RSTP has the following ports states discarding , learning and forwarding but discarding is the combination of the listening and blocking port sate.

rstp only has discarding, learning and then forwarding. Hence from 802.1d it has taken away blocking and listening. hence these are the two combined.

A. blocking B. listening STP states: disable, listen, learn, block, and forward. RSTP states: Discarding, Learning, and Forwarding. The STP port states blocking and listening are merged (combined) into the RSTP discarding state. Answer: RSTP state combines blocking and listening STP states to allow faster convergence... https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/lan-switching/spanning-tree-protocol/24062-146.html#anc3

Here the question should be read care fully to answer this. STP has 5 status( Disabled,Blocking,Listening,Learning,Forwarding) RSTP has 3 (Discarding,Learning,Forwarding) Hope now we can decide which of 3 states it has combined for fast convergence

The question is about which spanning-tree port states are combined in RSTP to allow for faster convergence. RSTP basically combines disabled, blocking and listening STP port states into a single port state of discarding. Therefore, the answer is A and E. Disabled is not mentioned here, but blocking and listening are.

RSTP simply Discards, Learns, and Forwards... Therefore, I believe, because the RSTP goes from discarding to learning to forwarding, the convergence process is quicker due to the actions of discarding and learning B and D.
