Selected Answer: B
A. FTP operates at the application layer, not the session layer. B. FTP uses separate control and data connections to move files between a server and a client. The control connection is used to send commands and receive responses, while the data connection is established separately for the actual file transfer. C. FTP itself does not provide native encryption; however, FTPS (FTP Secure) and SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) are secure alternatives that offer encryption. D. FTP use TCP.

I know that B is correct. However, C also seems correct since FTP supports encryption. Can someone, explain why is C not correct?

FTP doesn't use encryption. - SFTP does - FTPS does - FTP does not (well, you can put it in an IPsec tunnel, however...)

The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard communication protocol used for the transfer of computer files from a server to a client on a computer network. FTP is built on a client–server model architecture using separate control and data connections between the client and the server.
