we need to modify bandwidth on both sides - it uses the lowest bandwidth. And variance will lead to traffic balancing which is not what we want.

I mean we can still do balancing by setting bandwidths, but only if feasability condition is met. Notice the words: " based on the speeds provided by the service provider". We need to modify the bandwidth to meet the speeds provided by the ISP

Bw represents the slowest link in the path. Link speed is colected form the confgured interface bandwidth.

Probably because u only need to manipulate the metric of the Cape town to tokyo and then to dubai, so assume that tokyo and dubai still works with their default metrics
