Selected Answer: C
PMTUD doesn't really increase TCP performance but will improve convergence time coz fragmentation will be avoided

I will go for C - since it is asking for BGP

Also agree. TCP transport performance helps with re-convergence. Another option is turning ingress queue size.

MTU mismatch cause BGP session to flap and cause loop. PMTUD can dynamically correct MTU. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/border-gateway-protocol-bgp/116377-troubleshoot-bgp-mtu.html#toc-hId--1185936681

BGP operates over TCP, and it relies on TCP’s PMTUD to determine the largest packet size that can be sent without fragmentation. This will definitely improve convergence time. But if the TCP PMTUD is carried out from servers, the application performance can improve too.

I think ans is B BGP TCP path mtu discovery (PMTUD) can be used to prevent packet fragmentation that can degrade network performance.

Selected Answer: B
By discovering the path MTU, hosts can avoid sending packets that will be fragmented and instead use smaller packets that can be transmitted without fragmentation, leading to better performance.

I vote for B. MTUD brings not much value to BGP default MTU.
