Console Port: This is typically used for out-of-band management via a direct connection to the device, usually through a terminal emulator. It does not rely on the network being operational and allows for low-level configuration and troubleshooting, even when the WLC’s network interfaces are down. The console port is purely a local, serial connection. Service Port: This is a dedicated Ethernet port that also allows for out-of-band management, but it provides remote access over the network. The service port is independent of the WLC's data interfaces, meaning it can still be used even if the data network is down.

Console port dedicated for out-of-band management and local access. The management interface is the default interface for in-band management/administration of the controller. The service interface is reserved for out-of-band management of the controller. To access WLC GUI, we can use HTTP/HTTPS over a browser. Here, service port interface or the management interface is used to access GUI. https://www.lantronix.com/blog/whats-difference-console-port-management-port/
