My Call: Gaming PC Intel Core I7 GPU 16GB DDR5 7.1 Headset 1TB SSD Family PC Core I3 On Board Video 8GB DDR5 On Board Sound Webcam 256GB SSD (Toughest call IMHO. Went for smaller SSD as they are actually cheaper and faster than a larger HDD)

For a gaming computer, a headset makes more sense than an external mic. An external mic would be good for someone doing podcasts and such, but in gaming you need to be able to hear the game well and not everything else around, you want your mic to only pick up what the player is saying rather than all sounds in the area.

but the list only said " high end audio " which only indicates your Mic, not what you gonna hear or what the other end is gonna say to you. i guess.

High end audio - aka good quality headset. People who games prioritizes a gaming headset over a microphone.

Anyone got a guess for SOHO? for SOHO I think it is: i3 On board video (cheaper than discrete) Webcam (they usually have a built in mic, so no need for headset or external mic) 500GBHDD (less storage + HDD instead of SSD is cheaper) 4GBDDR5 ECC or 8GB DDR5 (not sure because 4GB is incredibly low for todays standards) On Board Sound

ECC is expensive and usually for servers, I would say you are correct on everything but go with 8GB DDR5 for the RAM

Agree, they threw in ECC to confuse us, ECC shouldn't be used for either of the PCs in this question. It would unnecessarily slow down the gaming PC.
