STP as a short form is confusing. Is it Spanning Tree Protocol or Shielded Twisted Pair. Certification industry is just there to create maximum money

I know it's super annoying when first learning all of this stuff. But for this just remember if the question is dealing with switches, STP = Spanning Tree Protocol If its dealing with cabling, STP = Shielded Twisted Pair

Spanning tree protocol, deals with redundancy

Considering the context given to answer C. STP is not "Configured". You can't configure a cable.

Selected Answer: C
The reason the network is not functional due to redundant links between the two switches is likely that Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) is not configured. STP prevents loops in a network topology and disables redundant paths that could cause data loops or broadcast storms. The presence of redundant links without STP can cause network instability and congestion.

Spanning Tree Protocol, because that occurs at layer 2 between switches

C. STP is not configured. The redundant links between two switches without STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) can cause a network loop. When a network loop occurs, the switches will forward traffic endlessly in a loop, which can cause a network outage or poor network performance. Therefore, if there are redundant links between two switches and STP is not configured, it can cause the network to be non-functional. ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) cache corruption (option A) can cause connectivity issues, but it is not related to redundant links or STP. CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Detection) protocols (option B) are used in Ethernet networks to detect and recover from collisions, and are not directly related to redundant links or STP. Incompatible switch models (option D) can cause issues with connectivity, but it is unlikely to be the cause of non-functional network after the replacement of switches, especially if the replacement switches are of the same make and model as the original switches.

"Redundant links" makes me think of Spanning Tree not configured. The resulting broadcast storm would take up all bandwidth and effectively block other network traffic.
