A network technician needs to ensure the company’s external mail server can pass reverse lookup checks. Which of the following records would the technician MOST likely configure?
A. PTR (Pointer) record.
A PTR record is a type of DNS record that maps an IP address to a domain name. Reverse lookup checks are used to verify that an IP address is associated with a valid domain name, and are commonly used in anti-spam and anti-phishing measures. In the case of an external mail server, a PTR record would need to be configured in the DNS server for the domain name that corresponds to the server's IP address. This would allow reverse lookup checks to verify that the mail server is authorized to send email from the domain name associated with its IP address.
When both SPF and PTR is present it is about the wording used. SPF specifies which IPs are allowed to send emails
PTR can be used to do "reverse" lookups. So, I will have to go for PTR
Here it says reverse lookup "checks". This certification is about English language proficiency (or lack of it). Does check means verification then it could be SPF. I hope the certification industry grow some morality
Wait, I will go for PTR. Impossible question. Because both are used when the recipient-email-server receives the email
