enabled? If you cannot see speakers in the device list, there's a possibility that it is disabled. To fix this, right-click on the blank area > select Show disabled devices. Next, right-click the speaker > Enable. If this doesn't help, try updating the sound driver

Selected Answer: C
A down arrow indicates "Indicates a disabled device. A disabled device is a device that is physically present in the system, consuming resources, but does not have a protected-mode driver loaded." So I think that "C" is correct.

If the Windows Device Manager shows a down arrow for the audio device, it means that there is a problem with the driver. Updating the driver can resolve the issue. Replacing the speakers would not be the correct solution as the down arrow in the Device Manager suggests the problem is not with the hardware. Increasing the volume would not help if there is no audio output at all. Enabling the audio device could potentially solve the issue if it was previously disabled, but the down arrow in the Device Manager suggests that the problem is more likely a driver issue.

A down arrow indicates that the device is disabled. A yellow triangle indicates a problem with the driver.
