An administrator is installing a new file server that has four drive bays available. Which of the following RAID types would provide the MOST storage as well as disk redundancy?
Go to: https://www.raid-calculator.com/default.aspx and calculate the RAID configuration. You will notice that RAID 5 will have the most storage, but still have redundancy. Question doesn't ask which solution has the most redundancy.
RAID 10 would provide the MOST storage as well as disk redundancy out of the given options.
RAID 0 provides no redundancy and only offers increased performance by striping data across multiple drives.
RAID 1 provides disk redundancy but only half the total storage capacity since each disk is a mirror of the other.
RAID 5 provides a good balance of storage and redundancy by striping data across multiple disks with parity data distributed among the disks. However, it requires at least three drives and can only withstand the failure of one disk.
RAID 10, also known as RAID 1+0, provides both disk redundancy and increased storage capacity by mirroring two drives and then striping data across the mirrored pairs. This configuration requires at least four drives and can withstand the failure of one drive in each mirrored pair.
Wrong. RAID 10 only has half of all of disk space avalible due to mirroring ( 2 disks ). RAID 3 has 3 disks so that't the right answer doesn't mention best redundancy anywhere
On the other hand, RAID 10 requires a minimum of four drives and uses a combination of mirroring and striping, where data is mirrored across pairs of drives and then striped across the mirrored pairs. In a four-drive RAID 10 configuration, only half of the drives (two drives) are available for data storage, as the other half is used for mirroring.
so you colud be right.
