The correct answer is C. Replace the overheating fuser. The technician has identified that the fuser is overheating and has paper stuck to it, which indicates a faulty fuser. Since the fuser was recently installed, it's likely a defective or malfunctioning part. The next step should be to replace the fuser with a new one. Here's why the other options are not the best choice: A. Disconnecting the printer power may be a troubleshooting step, but it's not the most immediate action to address the overheating fuser. B. Installing a printer roller kit may be a maintenance task, but it's not directly related to the current issue with the fuser. D. Replacing the paper with thicker paper stock may help prevent paper jams, but it won't address the root cause of the problem, which is the overheating fuser. By replacing the fuser, the technician can ensure the printer operates safely and efficiently, and prevent further damage or potential fire hazards.

You should always disconnect a device from power when you are opening it up to see what needs to be done

Selected Answer: A
In this scenario, the technician has identified that paper is stuck to the fuser, and the fuser is unusually hot. Attempting to remove the paper while the fuser is still hot can be dangerous and may lead to further damage. The best course of action is to let the fuser cool down first.

You would unplug it first to allow it to cool down then replace the Fuser. Safety first!

Selected Answer: A
The paper being stuck to the fuser and the fuser being much hotter than normal indicate a potential problem with the fuser unit or its operation. The fuser is the component in a laser printer that uses heat to bond the toner onto the paper. When the paper gets stuck to the fuser, it can cause overheating and lead to print quality issues or even damage the fuser itself. To address the immediate safety concern and prevent further damage, the technician should disconnect the printer from the power source. This will allow the fuser to cool down and minimize any potential hazards. Once the printer is safely powered down, the technician can proceed with further troubleshooting to determine the root cause of the paper jam and overheating. This may involve inspecting the fuser unit for any physical defects, checking for any foreign objects or debris in the paper path, and examining the printer roller kit to see if it needs replacement.

The answer should be A. You have to power off the printer, for it to cool down, and the fuser tocool down

He is not correct. Power down first, then troubleshoot. Once sense does it make to troubleshoot with powering down the workstation first. Remember CompTIA troubleshooting steps and you will be good. Cheers!
