Clearly a brute force attempt judging off the timestamps and that the event ID correlates to a failed login

Selected Answer: A
A brute force attack is a type of cyberattack in which an attacker systematically tries all possible combinations of passwords or encryption keys until the correct one is found. It is a straightforward and time-consuming attack method that relies on the attacker's ability to repeatedly attempt different combinations until the correct one is guessed.

when an admin creates an AD account, they set it to expire at a specified date. If an Active Directory user attempts to use an expired account to sign in to AD, the user is denied access. Then, the Domain Controller logs an event ID 4625. The account that attempted login has been disabled. Answer is D

Read the question...you are making too many assumption, and thus recreating the scenario. The answer is A.

4625 just means a failed login attempt. The attempts are exactly two seconds apart each time. This would be too quick for a normal user and it's doubtful they would always attempt like clockwork after two seconds.
