The most likely cause of the solid black line appearing on all copies produced on the copier (but not affecting printing) is a scratch on the scanning bed. The scanning bed is the glass surface on which the original document is placed for scanning. If there is a scratch on the scanning bed, the light sensor or scanning element may be unable to differentiate between the scratched area and the rest of the document, resulting in a solid black line being copied onto every page.
