Selected Answer: A
The most likely cause of the issue is that the S/MIME (Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) plug-in, which is used for email encryption and digital signing, is not enabled or properly configured on the financial analyst's email client. S/MIME is a widely used protocol for securing email communications by providing encryption and digital signatures. If the analyst was expecting an encrypted email from the client, but the S/MIME plug-in is not enabled or not set up correctly, the email client will not be able to decrypt the message, resulting in an error when trying to open the encrypted email.

A. The S/MIME plug-in is not enabled I think that potentially both A & B are correct here. I am going with A though. "Note: If you receive an encrypted message before you've installed the S/MIME control, you’ll be prompted to install the control when you open the message." "S/MIME isn't configured to work with the current domain. You can add it in S/MIME Extension options page in the settings for your browser." https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/office/encrypt-messages-by-using-s-mime-in-outlook-on-the-web-878c79fc-7088-4b39-966f-14512658f480

Selected Answer: A
Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension S/MIME is one of the most popular standards used to digitally sign and encrypt email. Most email applications that support encryption and digital signatures use S/MIME standards. It uses both Symmetric and Asymmetric encryption to encrypt email in transit (data sent over the network) and at rest (Stored in the drive).
