User says they have Internet problems. Ipconfig shows the users IP status - do they have an IP address? Do they have a Default Gateway? (Remember the Default Gateway is to connect OUT to another Network - i.e Internet). Ok, so lets establish they have the Default Gateway and IP then try DNS issue. 8.8.8.8 is Google's DNS servers, this means you will ping them to see if you can connect to them or not. If you cannot connect to them then you have DNS issues. Lastly, pinging comptia.org may imply that you have an IP address and other details AND you can connect to Google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8) then comptia.org DNS address may not be resolving. You can do a nslookup comptia.org to get the IP address and check connectivity on the IP address. Answer: D I would say...

Certainly! If the technician identifies a DNS-related issue, he can resolve it by using the ipconfig /flushdns command. This command clears the DNS cache and can help address DNS-related problems. So, the correct answer remains option D

Selected Answer: D
We're not sure what the problem is specifically. ipconfig show us the NIC (network interface card/controller), ping 8.8.8.8 tells us if we can ping out of the local network & ping comptia.org tells us if the DNS is working.

Pinging something is not resolving an issue, this is simply testing things.

The technician is using these commands to diagnose and identify the issue that's preventing the user from accessing the internet. The "ipconfig /all" command provides information about the PC's network configuration, while the "ping" commands are used to check network connectivity and whether the PC can reach specific IP addresses (8.8.8.8 and comptia.org). https://halafurniture.com/wall-to-wall-carpets/Identifying the problem is the initial step in troubleshooting the issue.

It is D. You need to identify the problem first. IPCONFIG and Ping absolutely help you identify the problem not resolve the problem.

No, it's definitely D, trying to identify the problem ipconfig (is there an IP? could be DHCP) ping IP (can I ping an IP address at all? could be routing issue, gateway, etc) ping name (can I resolve a name? could be DNS)
