Crossover cable - 568A to 568B Straight through is - (568A to 568A) or (568B to 568B) A rollover cable is a complete reversal of pins - ex. (pins 12345678 to pins 87654321)

I guess if I were to get this question I'd still say Crossover but, technically speaking, none of the answers are correct. Yes, it's true that a crossover cable for a TIA/EIA A is very similar to the B wiring scheme. But there,s a difference. In the A and B cables (the regular ones, not crossed over) pins 4, 5, 7, and 8 stay the same, while in their crossed version, these pins are "reflected" over pin 6... To make it simpler to understand: TIA/EIA-568A: 1. W/Green 2. Green 3. W/Orange 4. Blue 5. White Blue 6. Orange 7. W/Brown 8. Brown TIA/EIA-568A Crossover: 1. White/Orange 2. Orange 3. White/Green 4. White/Brown 5. Brown 6. Green 7. Blue 8. White/Blue Notice that TIA/EIA-568A doesn't simply "turn into TIA/EIA-568B" on its crossover version, but pins 4, 5, 7, and 8 are swapped as well.

You are describing a Fully Crossed cable. 568A to 568B is considered a Half Crossed cable, only crossing pairs 1, 2, 3, and 6.

Selected Answer: A
A. Crossover cable When a network technician crimps a length of UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable with TIA/EIA-568A on one end and TIA/EIA-568B on the other, they have created a crossover cable. A crossover cable is used to connect similar devices directly, such as connecting two computers or two switches without the need for a crossover port on a hub or switch
