flash(SSD) and spinning(HDD) disks. thin-provisioning: you allocate spaces (i.g. 100GB) used only when needed, so I don't reserve the all space if not used. thick-provisioning: you reserve spaces (i.g. 100GB) independently if you use it or not hyperconverged storage(HCI): it is used when you share the space of different hosts. You create a virtual pool of storage. Here we are speaking about hosts, sharing storage. SAN: here there is no external server storage attached to hosts; storage devices are already inside the hosts. NFS: it is about file storage.
