A technician just validated a theory that resolved a network outage. The technician then verified that all users could access resources. Which of the following is the next step the technician should take in the network troubleshooting methodology?
A.
Verify the services are restored.
B.
Test a new theory.
C.
Write the lessons learned.
D.
Identify where the network outage is occurring.
Answer is C even if the answer is worded terribly. Step 7 (documenting): Documenting isn't about lessons learned, documenting is to document what you actually did to resolve the issue in case something happens again, especially if the problem comes back quickly. Lessons learned is something you do after the fact, saying there was a break in procedure that caused the outage.
This one is kind of confusing to me. Because step 6 in troubleshooting says to verify FULL system functionality - my gut is to say A because knowing the users can access resources doesnt tell us the services are fully functional and restored. After that the next step is lessons learned/document findings/etc.. I hate these questions
The question is already incorrect from the get go. Says they "validated the theory..." aka step 3 which "...resolved the network outage" step 5...
But to clarify why A isn't the answer. Yes the comptia steps say full functional and restored but based on what the problem was, a network outage. Verifying the functionality is back is what is needed and that was done by the users being able to access the service resources again.
Correct answer is C granted they worded it in the weirdest and most incorrect way. Documenting isn't about lessons learned, documenting is to document what you actually did to resolve the issue in case something happens again, especially if the problem comes back quickly. Lessons learned is something you do after the fact, saying there was a break in procedure that caused the outage.
