A user is unable to navigate to a website because the provided URL is not resolving to the correct IP address. Other users are able to navigate to the intended website without issue. Which of the following is most likely causing this issue?
The answer is A. Hosts file
If the other users weren't able to access the site, you could argue it's C. But the problem is specific to this user's environment. Host files can be manually configured to override DNS resolution and if it contains an old entry for that URL, then the user won't be able to access the site because the URL is mapping to incorrect IP address.
NS records play a crucial role in the DNS hierarchy by delegating authority for a domain to specific name servers. They are typically configured by the domain's registrar or hosting provider and are publicly available in the domain's DNS zone file. Incorrect or misconfigured NS records can result in DNS resolution failures and prevent users from accessing a website.
Only 1 user has an issue though. The records on the nameserver aren't the issue. Something local or specific is happening here. Host files can cause issues if not setup correctly.
