Sources are saying biometrics - but if you are going by the rule that it has to be 2 of these Something the user “knows” (knowledge) Something the user “has” (possession) Something the user “is” (inherence) Then couldn't it also be a hard token or smart card, both being something the user has?

I imagine it's much more common to use biometrics with a mobile device compared to smart cards or hard tokens. But I guess it could depend on the mobile device.
