A. There is a 95% probability that the population mean lies within the stated interval. A 95% confidence interval means that if we were to repeat the process of sampling and constructing confidence intervals, about 95% of those intervals would contain the true population mean. It does not imply that there is a 95% probability that any given interval specifically contains the population mean, but rather that 95% of such intervals constructed in this way would include the population mean.
