This exact question was on MeasureUp and there A and B were listed as correct. That makes more sense, I think.

Agree. A and B makes the most sense. The questions says that the technician runs scripts in Linux and has to travel between building and he has a Windows machine with 4 GB ram. (which is indicated for a reason!) The best way to solve it is to increase the memory (A) for the Linux virtual machine (B). Why? Because: C: With the extra 500 GB he still needs to use Linux and walk to the server so it does not make sense. D: Linux liveboot CD is almost good, but you have to choose 2 answer and A and B combinations is better than D. E: Repartitioning the hard drive is not going to solve his Linux and walking problem. F: Almost good, but again you have to choose 2 answer here and A. B. is better than F in this situation.

Selected Answer: BE
the answer is B,E Install the Linux guest VM this allows the tech to run Linux on their Windows 10 laptop without the need of going to the server room they can run the scripting commands remotely E repartition the hard drive since the hard drive is fully partitioned the tech will need to repartition it to allocate the space for the Linux guest VM

AF provides the same solution as AB but is more stable since it is not a VM.

So I guess he does care about using windows on his laptop and that is something I just have to presume. I guess it is more costly though to upgrade the memory and time consuming to Install Linux on the laptop over Windows and repartition the harddrive to make it ready for Linux. So I think I understand the question. Maybe if he needed the Windows still on the laptop the VM solution of A and B would be right. But I feel we are left trying to figure out that he does not want the WIndows anymore. So E and F.

B and D. A linux liveboot cd allows them to spin up linux without purchasing any hardware, ram, or changing anything at all. Windows Hyper-v can support 3 or 4 virtual guests in it on only 4 gigs of ram, and so it could handle a single linux vm on 4gb of ram easily enough. Again, this doesn't cost a penny. Sure. more ram would be nice, but again, NOT NEEDED.

none of the above. the right solution would be to make a cron job if the commands are the same everytime. otherwise you should just ssh into the server.

New to this and maybe totally wrong but I think the answers selected are right because I thought OS software (linux) is stored ON THE hard-drive (storage) not other memory

When you boot up your computer the OS is loaded from your hard drive into the RAM.

Is there like a mod in here or something that can give us some definitive answers on these contentious questions? Like seriously dude people are gonna fail the freakin test based on ambiguous wording

I was thinking this one had to be AB. It would solve the problem and would only require 2 steps. Furthermore, partitioning and dual booting aren't listed in core 1; while VMs are.

A and B -- much easier and faster to install extra memory, create a VM, and install Linux than to repartition the drive and install Linux.
