question asks specifically "The technician needs to make sure all users can print to the new printer through the switch" Print server is the correct answer. Print server has a usb connector for your printer and a rj-45 connector for your switch/hub/router.

Since the users' computers are all in the same workgroup and are connected to the same network switch, the most straightforward solution would be to configure a shared printer. This setup involves connecting the printer to one of the computers via USB or directly to the network (if the printer has a built-in wireless or network port). The computer to which the printer is connected will then share the printer, making it available to all other computers in the workgroup.

I have seen a lot of fox choosing the print server option. That cannot be correct due to the fact that there is a lack of RJ45 jack. The only way to get this printer online is using a USB connection to one of the PC and share it with everybody else. Now some people got confused by the fact that they mentioned the switch. Even though a USB is used to connect the printer to one PC, the rest of them will communicate with the printer through the switch, Because the only way the rest of the PCs can talk to that printer is because they are on the same network with the other PC that is connected to the printer via USB

Users of a workgroup , printers and a switch are mentioned here. A print server is not listed. So for the solution the printer should be connected to a user PC and this should be shared.

shared printer is still printing through a switch. You would install the printer via USB to a local computer and share it out to everyone in a soho. Since the computer is communicating through LAN it's passing by the switch.

The printer doesn't have RJ-45 which mean it doesn't have a built-in print server. You need to shared the printer through another computer.

A printer without an RJ45 jack most likely doesnt have a NIC or networking capabilities which a print server would utilize. Since it specifically states all the computers are on the same workgroup and connected the question is definitely leading toward using the windows functionality of that workgroup and sharing the printer after connecting and installing it on one of the computers.

Agreed! You could also share the printer through localhost and allow sharing so everyone can access the printer.

I agree, and i agree also that A is the most suitable option. But still, the shared printer is shared by a device who act and technically IS a print server, since if it's offline you can't print. So print server is also correct
