LLDP is the Link Layer Discovery Protocol, which is designed to discover neighboring network devices and their port details IKE is used for establishing VPN connections, not related VLAN logically separates network traffic, not related to identifying ports netstat views network connections and statistics, not port information

Selected Answer: A
LLDP is a Vendor-neutral protocol designed to help network devices discover information about their neighbors, including the switch they are connected to and the specific port. Devices automatically advertise their information via LLDP, allowing neighboring devices to easily discover them. This makes it ideal for troubleshooting connectivity issues like a VoIP handset connection. LLDP can provide details like the device's name, port number, MAC address, and supported capabilities. IKE (Internet Key Exchange): This protocol is used for establishing secure VPN connections, not for identifying switches or ports. VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network): VLANs logically separate network traffic but don't provide information about the specific switch or port a device is connected to. netstat: This command shows network connections and statistics, but it doesn't provide information about the switch or port a device is connected to on the switch.

LLDP is perfect. IP phones don't necessarily support Cisco CDP, but they DO support LLDP. And you can configure both on your switch.

The Link Layer Discovery Protocol is a vendor-neutral link layer protocol used by network devices for advertising their identity, capabilities, and neighbours on a local area network based on IEEE 802 IKE - Internet Key Exchange - Not related to Switch VLAN - Not related to identify Port in the switch netstat - Identify logical ports in the computer/laptop, not in the switch
