An administrator is working on improving the security of a new domain controller. A report indicates several open ports on the server. Which of the following ports should the administrator disable?
D is the correct answer
Since all other ports are required to be open for the domain controller functions.
135 - Needed for client server applications that use LDAP/LDAPS authentication
636 - Used for LDAPS authentication for the Single-Sign-On
3268 - Used for Global Catalog service to identify other Domain controller in same domain or forest.
Port 3389 is used for remote desktop connection and can be closed due to security reason, Active directory can be viewed/ managed by dsa.msc and RSAT tool on client machine and GPO can also be managed by GPMC.
D would be the best answer here, although if I'm working in the DC everyday all day my choice is RSAT over RDP but I guess one is more secure than the other depending.
