I agree with copenhagen. 1-We dont even know if the patch, assuming there is one, will solve the issue. 2- That means the vulnerability just keeps on living on and on. 3-The system has to be isolated and brought back on the network when it is sure the issue is resolved.
yes, however, the question doesn't ask what to do "first", just what should the engineer do. so update the firmware solves the issue. Isolate only mitigates until an update is applied. just my 2 cents.
