I believe the correct answer is B. because the key word of the question is " what should a technician do FIRST" which mean the technician has to Verify the user is sending the document to the correct printer.

The answer is B. You should always check if the issue is not a "user error". It is not A, because, after the user switch to another printer, the PC's print spooler worked properly.

I've been in desktop support for 7 years, answer B happens quite often and would be the most correct in my opinion. If the user is able to print to another printer without any issues then the Print Spooler should be functioning correctly. Usually, if the user cannot print to ANY printer it ends up being the Spooler or depending on if the other printers are the same model the drivers could be corrupted. Ex.) HP uses universal print drivers for almost all their enterprise printers, so the drivers are shared, which means if you cannot print to any HP printer then the drivers are most likely corrupted (happens often on a large user base).

If it says "the user sends the document to another printer", that means that he already send it to the correct one, so that eliminates option B. I think "A" should be the answer!

in a big office settings, 3+ printers are not uncommon just because they printed to another doesn't mean they started at the correct one

Other users are having no issues which means no issues with the server. Eliminate C and D The user with the issue can print to another printer which means the spooler service is working. Eliminate A I personally don't understand how B would help though.

Spooler service is service present on each client PC, so if anything is wrong with spooler service you should restart it and try again.
