Can someone explain to me why this isn't a work station? Most pictures of the inside of game development studios show Workstations, not servers.

u r right gamers use workstation for playing but the question was abt devlopping games which needs a lot of power for rendring 3D building compiling testing etc... and servers are a lot more powerfull than workstations :)

Selected Answer: D
Workstations are specifically designed for high-performance tasks like game development, and they offer the flexibility to upgrade components such as the CPU, GPU, RAM, and storage to meet the evolving requirements of game engine software.

It's 100% the option D (Workstation). It's a high-performance computing device designed for tasks such as game development. Servers are designed for managing network resources and providing services to multiple users, not for running game development software. They are not optimized for the graphical and interactive tasks required in game development.

If we are speaking strictly hardware, a computer typically built to be a server would have greater capability, but from my experience you won't find typical servers with the graphical power to render games, mostly because the chasis for typical servers will not hold a graphics card. Now there are servers that are built to be towers, but then you might as well just call that a workstation. Really what makes a server a server is the software capable of handling multiple users, multiple requests, and to be online continuously with very little downtime.

The question is about game development. Usually a developer will need to test your game using a server (high-end device).
