Yes. Unix/Linux are also vulnerable to the ping of death attack. But the question here is directed at Windows, it did not mentioned anything about Unix/Linux.
If you have read the question carefully, it clearly stated "which of the following is a vulnerability". How is "Windows requires frequent patching" a vulnerability?
Answer 'D' is the most obvious choice here, why? Ping of death can eventually lead to causing buffer overflow, system to crash, rce, and many complicated form of attacks.
Here, the question also did mentioned about using Windows as a host OS for VM. Let say you are running 3 guest OS VM on the host. If your host OS is being vulnerable to ping of death attack and it crashes, your 3 guest OS will crash as well.

I think Ping of death also, This is the first version of the CYSA+ the exam came out 2017, you know a lot if these questions where written in the mid 2010 when server 2008 and 2012 where in use. I sure the ver 2 of the cysa+ will omit this type of question
Windows hasn't been vulnerable for this since 2013. But I *guess* it's all in the wording here... . "Which of the following is a VULNERABILITY when using Windows". The only real VULNERABILITY mentioned in any of the answers is indeed the mentioning of the ping of death in answer D.
