A – TELNET provides remote login to a server via port 23 B -- FTP enables you to log in to a remote system via port 21 for client connecting to servers - 1. Open a connection to a remote system by using the ftp command. $ ftp remote-system - 2. Type your user name 3. If prompted, type your password.

o block remote logins to a server, the technician should block the following ports commonly used for remote login services: Port 22 (SSH - Secure Shell): Used for remote login to Unix/Linux servers. Blocking this port will prevent SSH connections, which are often used for secure remote administration. Port 3389 (RDP - Remote Desktop Protocol): Used for remote login to Windows servers. Blocking this port will prevent RDP connections, which are commonly used for remote desktop access to Windows machines. Port 23 (Telnet): Used for remote login over Telnet, an older protocol that transmits data in plaintext and is less secure than SSH. Blocking this port will prevent Telnet access, which is typically avoided in favor of SSH.

it should say 23 (telnet) not dns (domain name system). Telnet: a network protocol that allows a user on one computer to log into another computer that is part of the same network.

The only port numbers that can connect to a server remotely to issue command is port 21 (telnet) and port 22 (SSH). All the other answers are wrong ... -_- smh

Explanation: As is the trend with many tests, I think the reason Port 21 is the correct answer here is because all the other answers are so obviously wrong. Port 53 is DNS, Port 80 is HTTP and port 443 is HTTPS. None of those answers have to do with accessing a server remotely, Port 21 (FTP) would be the closest answer to a remote access of a server.

BRUH, port 21 is ftp what does it have to do with anything? I saw this question before with different answer choices but none of the ones provided here are correct. Usually the answer would be port 23 which is Telnet.

This is correct. 3389 is RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol). 443 is HTTPS and is only correct if you're unable to access an HTTPS website. As is the trend with many tests, I think the reason Port 21 is the correct answer here is because all the other answers are so obviously wrong. Port 53 is DNS, Port 80 is HTTP and port 443 is HTTPS. None of those answers have to do with accessing a server remotely, Port 21 (FTP) would be the closest answer to a remote access of a server.
