Team members have reported poor sound quality during critical, time-sensitive conference calls. Which of the following may be a more effective means of communication?
Not only is it time-sensitive but also critical, which means confidential/important so social media, texting and online web content will not be valid answers.
One-on-one is the least horrible choice.
Its A. I feel this is a technical question but easily distinguishable. Poor sound quality during calls is due to bad connection. With this being said, internet is the problem... Project wiki, text messages, and social media all rely on the internet. So one-on-one meetings regardless of the speed, are more effective than any communication online. Also, they type of communication needs to be considered. How do I know for a fact you received the information as I relayed it to you with out hearing a response or seeing your body expressions in person? Text, social media and wiki are all things some old head without a phone wouldn't actively participate in.
Text messages are for individual communication, Project wiki isnt anywhere near any study materials I can find and social media, what if someone isnt actively online? One-on-One meets are not only singular person meetings and there is no mention of people located across multiple locations...
Terrible question. Time sensitive means this needs to happen quickly. One on one meetings may or may not be able to happen quickly depending on where the team members are located. Text messages are not designed for conference sized audiences nor critical information that may require a lot of back and forth with questions. Social media is also not ideal considering a lot of this material may not be something you want floating around on the internet. I think a virtual conference would be better.
This one is tough, I've been on a lot of conference calls even emergency ones and I can't really imagine many of them being carried out via a group text message, but one on one meetings can only work if the entire team is in the immediate vicinity which isn't specified.
I disagree with both A and C being the answers, text messaging is used for short, quick, and easy communication which does fit the criteria of critical and time-sensitive, however, it doesn't fit to have a group text sent to a conference call size audience. When I think of critical conference calls I think of complex information that needs to be distributed, far more than can be appropriate to text on a phone. If the PM doesn't opt for group texts and opts for one-on-one texts, then it may as well be option A. To me, the logical means of communication would be D, Social Media, which allows for interaction and communication on a large-scale, content sharing and ability to access it from anywhere.
