I understand that the answer is A. But the question does not specify that he is talking about email contacts and calendar items. What if he wanted his phone contacts and calendar items from a third party app?

Today, almost all major third party mail apps (such as Google, Outlook etc.) have contacts and calendar in them, as well as syncing to all connected devices. And if it's not a major and known one, simply logging in to the same app with the same user usually results in the database syncing.

What if the user did not set up their account to sync with an email address, or what if the user saves his contacts or his appointment on the phone app which is not synced to his email account, what then?

i actually had to do this and didnt follow these directions. I literally backed up on a computer and synced it. IOS -> COM -> Andoroid. But yeah A is the correct answer since third party apps are pretty smart and store your info on servers already. Its just syncing your account to a new device.

Correct answer is: - A because here user is trying to transfer from a different OS so let's consider it as an android to ios Can you transfer contacts from Gmail to iPhone? Open the Settings app, scroll down and tap Accounts & Passwords (or Mail, Contacts, Calendars in some older versions of iOS), then add your Gmail account. Make sure Contacts are enabled for the account. You should now find that, after a few minutes, all of your Google contacts are in your iPhone.

iTunes has support for iCloud and locally stored contacts. No Google contacts support at this time.
