bridge is the answer here. The bridge is a network device which is used to divide a LAN into multiple segments.

I would say that correct answer is B, because it is neccesary to allow communication between segments. So we need L3 switch.

I actually thought this would be a Layer 2 Switch because a Layer 3 switch is almost a router and routers dont accept broadcasts.

I agree with you, using Layer 2 switch is good enough. It can make some VLAN to segment the network

Layer 2 switches work with VLANs, but I think they do not allow for communication from one VLAN to another VLAN.
