In Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), the switch with the lowest bridge ID (priority + MAC address) becomes the root bridge. If the current root bridge for VLAN 300 does not match the intended design, the administrator should increase the priority (i.e., increase the bridge ID) on the misconfigured switch to prevent it from becoming the root, thereby allowing the correct switch to resume its role.
