A technician is setting up a new wireless network at a branch office that previously had only wired connectivity with statically assigned IP addresses. After setting up the network, the technician configures a server to provide IP addresses to wireless clients. Which of the following should be technician check NEXT to resolve this issue?

  • A. Ensure the options are configured to provide a DNS server.

DNS is the most correct answer because local networks can use hostnames to find each other. Windows Firewall would not prevent an Internet connection. The visibility of the SSID is not relevant. Enabling file/printer sharing would not resolve Internet connectivity.

To add to this, when ever you see something like "the technician is unable to access the Internet", you should automatically assume DNS if its provided as an option.
