Misleading question. I guess the catch is that it states "integrity" of the cable first. Does anyone from ExamTopics review this stuff? I'm thinking about getting my money back.

Toner is the generic term for two separate devices that are used together: a tone generator and a tone probe. The tone generator connects to the cable using alligator clips, tiny hooks, or a network jack, and it sends an electrical signal along the wire at a certain frequency. The tone probe emits a sound when it is placed near a cable connected to the tone generator. These two devices are often referred to by the brand-name Fox and Hound, a popular model of toner made by the Triplett Corporation.

The technician has two plans 1, verifying the integrity and 2, identifying the cables. Inorder to check the integrity of the cables s/he must work on identifying the cables first, and the question also is about identifying. Therefore, C and F is the right answer.

The true answer would be Cable Tester and Probe & Tone Generator. Makes absolutely no sense why they would split Probe and Tone Generator into two separate answers when it is one tool.

The question is: "Which of the following are the BEST tools for the technician to use to IDENTIFY the correct network run to troubleshoot?" If identification of the cable is all that's needed and not figuring out if its punched down correctly or not, why wouldn't it be C and F?
