yes, it is tricky but the entire process of creting logical volumes starts with pvcreate and the answer could be A in this case.
creting logical volume proces flow: pvcreate --> vgcreate --> lvcreate
vgcreate is creating group of phisical not ligcal. The question is about logical.
So if the question si about the entire process the answer ia A: pvcreate
If it is related lv vreation the andwer will be C: lvcreate
I think the answer is A, because to create the logical partition you have to start by creating the physical partitions. And the question is asking about the command to start the process.
I agree with miky_Cissp. Classic CompTIA garbage verbiage with the intention of trying to fool you. It would be more intelligent of them to have you list out the entire process which dansecu has posted above. I'm going with answer A as it is the first step.
Confusing! I've never seen so many debatable test questions! I've got to find a better ExactQuestion Study Guide for this exam than this one, and all of it's online clones that have the same questions and provide the same answers!
The answer should be C. if you answer the question literally, and A. if you follow the process as per dansecu: pvcreate --> vgcreate --> lvcreate
https://www.redhat.com/sysadmin/creating-logical-volumes
This is tricky without further information, but I think the answer is B. The question asks what is required to start the process. I think the question is looking to create the Volume Group first.
Should be C. "lvcreate" for creating Logical Volumes from Volume Group.
"vgcreate" is creating the Volume Group from Physical Volumes.
