I would assume (A) but now that I read this again I missed the part where it says (UPDATE) (Keyword there is update.) if its out of date its out of date.

most of the time just because an item is new does not mean it's always up to date. The user could purchase a new tablet but it's already 1-2 years old. There is a good chance the tablet is missing some critical updates. I agree I would check for updates first before calibrating.

WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU UPDATE IF IT'S NEW?

The answer is A. Windows as a tool in the windows control panel to recalibrate the touchscreen. It will make sure the right parts of the screen are responding to your touch. If recalibration doesn't work then you should update the touchscreen's drivers.
