For people who want a quick guide over what terminates what:
Coaxial Cables : RG-59 or RG-6
Ethernet Cables : RJ-45
Phone Line : RJ-11
Serial Cable with RS-232 : DB-9
RG-59 does not terminate a coaxial cable. It IS a type of coaxial cable. Let this be an indicator of the integrity of these questions/answers. Proceed at your own risk. Yes, I know this comment will not be approved.
The question should read which of the following is a type of coaxial cable. RG-59 is actually a type of coax cable not the end terminator piece that screws into the wall. RG-59 does not terminate a coax cable, it is a type of coax cable.

Although rg-6 and rg-59 actually refer to cables in the context of this Comptia they are used to refer to a cable of this type terminating an an F-Connector. The idea is if you just ask someone for a "coax cable" or an "f-connector cable" you could be handed either or.
None of the options (A, B, C, D) terminate a coaxial cable.
A. DB9 is a type of serial connector used for RS-232 communications.
B. RJ45 is a type of Ethernet network connector.
C. RG-59 is a type of coaxial cable commonly used for video and broadband signals.
D. RS-232 is a standard for serial data communications.
Coaxial cables are typically terminated with a coaxial connector such as F connector, BNC connector, or RCA connector.
The answer is correct because all the others are not coaxial in nature but as said earlier, the cable itself is RG-59 not the ending. The big takeaway is to know your cables. Even obscur ones can trip you up on exam day! On the job it'll sound professional too using proper item names and avoid confusion between teams. If you ask for a coax cable, they may bring a different gauge than the one you need. Cord names matter :)
