A user is experiencing slow performance on a workstation. C. Verify full system functionality This answer makes more sense to me. The tech should have rebooted to ensure the background process don't start again after shutdown.

False. According to the question, they "remediated" the problem but never verified that the issue wouldn't arise once more, just informing the user it was fixed, that's a clear gap in the troubleshooting process. They already established the theory in the very beginning when suspecting the excessive number of background services running. I hate this exam

ok I am confused. has anyone gotten this question? everywhere says the correct answer is A : establish a theory of probable cause. but I can also understand the other correct answer C. Verify full system functionality. A IT professor even agrees with C. what's the answer then ON the test?

We have to go back to COMPTIAs' 6 step rule in troubleshooting. 1) Identify, which he did. 2) Develop a theory, he also did by "speculates" 3) test out the theory, he also did "The technician troubleshoots the issue, and then finds and disables many services that have been running at startup" 4) Plan of action and implementing solution "disables many services that have been running at startup" 5) Verify full system functionality and preventive measures This is where you need to lookout for other problems that are causing issues 6) Document...
