The best way for the instructor to motivate the learner would be option D, which is to strive to find out what interests the learner and incorporate these things into each instruction period. This approach would allow the instructor to tailor the instruction to the learner's interests and make the subject more relevant and engaging for the learner. By understanding the learner's interests, the instructor can also show the learner how the subject relates to their interests and how it can be useful in their daily lives. This approach is more likely to increase the learner's motivation and engagement than simply providing more handouts, reminding them of the benefits of one-to-one instruction, or assigning additional research.
