Selected Answer: C
The CompTia A+ Study Guide says: DisplayPort was designed to replace VGA and DVI. To help ease the transition, it’s backward compatible with both standards, using an adapter.

VGA is always analogous and Displayport is always digital. They are two different types of signals. For me the best reside in the (b)

Very very tricky. user only wants to have two screens with analog monitors. the first screen looks like it is the laptop itself. Since it has both a vga and and display port connector, we know that the end of the extension cable has to be VGA. C. a display port to VGA adaptor This answer is the only one that fits the description of having a either a VGA or display port as computer end and a VGA connection on the other end.

It says he want two EXTERNAL monitors though. I hate these kind of questions, like if you don't know the obvious answer you wouldn't easily figure it out IRL.

the user already has 1 VGA port, so he needs a DP to VGA for his secondary output. Since the question mentions Analog it has to be VGA. D using a splitter box would only clone his screen and not use it as dual monitors.

The question makes mention of analog monitors being used for the connection, so a VGA converter would mostly solve the issue. VGA is an analog interface.

Shouldn't this one be D? A DP to VGA adapter will only provide one Dsub connector not 2 as needed.
