MTU is associated with Giants. That is how I remember it.

Selected Answer: B
CRC = Error indicating mismatch in data code & can be a result of an integrity error, decryption error, or difference in transmission speeds. Giants = Error response that indicate if a transmission is bigger than what can be received by the set Maximum Transmission Unit. Runt = Error indicating a frame that is smaller than the minimum frame size for IEEE-802.3 standard frames. Flooding = Method used for loading IP packet data to multiple routers in a system to balance the load, this flood can be done by the following: * Dense Mode = Periodic flood & prune of data flow between routers to form an optimal distribution tree. * Sparse Mode = Uses a shared distribution tree & creates an optimal Shortest Path Tree (SPT) by using standby routers for switchover. There is also Smurf Attack (ICMP Flood) = Occurs when an attacker sends a ping to a subnet broadcast address with the source IP spoofed to be that of the victim server, the victim will receive the responding pings & be overwhelmed.

this is stupid it should be D because it doesnt mention anything about the size of the packets being transmitted just that they are getting too many

It's important to remember that Giants and Jumbo Frames are similar but different. Giants are packets that exceed the max MTU and are dropped upon being received. Jumbo Frames are packets that are configured to be larger than the standard and are usually not received in these types of situations.

Selected Answer: B
A Giant packet (also known as a "Giant") is a packet that exceeds the maximum transmission unit (MTU) size for a particular network. When a switchport receives a packet larger than the MTU, it is considered a Giant packet and is typically dropped by the switch. CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) errors indicate that data has been corrupted during transmission and does not match the checksum value generated by the sender.
