A. RAID storage – RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) provides redundancy and protects data from drive failures, ensuring fault tolerance in business operations.
B. Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) – A UPS helps maintain power during outages, preventing data loss and hardware damage, making it a critical component of fault tolerance.
Explanation of Incorrect Options:
C. Off-site backups – Important for disaster recovery, but it doesn’t provide real-time fault tolerance.
D. Private cloud servers – Can improve accessibility and scalability, but they do not directly provide fault tolerance.
E. Virtual-hosted desktops – Useful for remote work and security but not a core fault tolerance practice.
F. Warm sites – These are part of disaster recovery planning, not fault tolerance, as they require setup time before they become operational.
How is RAID storage not an answer with UPS? I feel a RAID contributes much more to business continuity and fault tolerance than an off-site backup (which would be more related to disaster recovery)
I now understand that business continuity is a consideration _after_ a disaster or a disruption occurs. In that case the provided "BC" answer is correct and my comment above is incorrect.
I htnk you first answer is correct. AB. Fault tolerances are also like if a hard drive goes bad. Raid would give you a ready to use already in place back up, where an offiste backup might not be readily available
