independent BSS (IBSS), or ad hoc network, is created by peer devices among themselves without network infrastructure. I vote for C to be the right answer as there will be peer to peer communication with out the AP as the question states.

I agree because BSS involves the use of an AP and an example is the settings we have in our homes. The correct answer is C

IBSS - when laptop connected to laptop, no internet connection. BSS - when laptop connected to wireless access point. ESS - Laptops connected to wireless access point, these wireless access points are connected to switch to get internet connection.

Answer is A: They are not asking which of the following configuration might be used to accomplish the connection but rather they are asking "which of the following describes this configuration?". This means, if an admin needs to connect two laptop using 802.11ac but does not have an AP, this configuration is called Basic Service Set (Even though he does not have a router but had he have a router, he would have been used it).

GPT says in this scenario, where two laptops are directly connected to each other without the use of an access point (AP), the configuration is referred to as an Independent Basic Service Set (IBSS). An IBSS, also known as an ad-hoc network, is a network configuration in which devices communicate with each other directly without the presence of an access point. This is commonly used for peer-to-peer connections, such as connecting two laptops directly together over Wi-Fi. Each laptop in an IBSS communicates with the other directly, without the need for an intermediary AP.

Selected Answer: C
he main difference between a Basic Service Set (BSS) and an Independent Basic Service Set (IBSS) lies in the network configuration and the role of devices. BSS involves a central access point managing client devices, while IBSS involves direct peer-to-peer communication between devices without a central access point.

GTP picks (C): "The configuration where two laptops are directly connected to each other using 802.11ac without an AP available is described as (C) Independent Basic Service Set (IBSS). In an Independent Basic Service Set (IBSS), also known as an ad-hoc network or peer-to-peer network, devices communicate directly with each other without the need for a central AP. In this scenario, the two laptops create their own network, allowing them to communicate directly over the 802.11ac wireless standard."

Selected Answer: C
C. Independent basic service set (IBSS) is a wireless network configuration in which two or more wireless devices connect directly to each other without the use of an access point. This is also sometimes referred to as an ad-hoc network. This configuration would meet the administrator's requirements of connecting two laptops directly to each other using 802.11ac without the use of an AP. A is not correct.Answer A, Basic service set (BSS), is a wireless network configuration in which one or more wireless devices connect to an access point (AP) to access the network. A BSS is the basic building block of an infrastructure wireless network, meaning that it requires an AP to connect the devices to each other, and to the wired network. In this scenario, the administrator does not have an AP available, so BSS will not work.

It cannot be A: Basic Service Set (BSS), as the name suggests, is basically a network topology that allows all wireless devices to communicate with each other through a common medium i.e. AP (Access point)

Basic Service Set (BSS) and Extended Service Set (ESS). A BSS consists of a group of computers and one AP, which links to a wired LAN. An ESS consists of more than one AP.
