Operating system virtualization (OS virtualization) is a server virtualization technology that involves tailoring a standard operating system so that it can run different applications handled by multiple users on a single computer at a time.
A Virtual computer system is an isolated container that houses both an operating system and accompanying applications inside of it. This software enables multiple, self-contained virtual computer systems to be run on a single physical computer system.
