Given the question, "participating computers", while making no mention of devices outside of that scope, D does seem to be a more accurate description. Just sayin'.

A. Nodes: In a network, a node refers to any device that can connect and communicate with other devices on the network. This encompasses a wide range of devices, including: Computers (desktops, laptops, servers) Network devices (switches, routers, firewalls) Printers Security cameras IoT devices (smart speakers, thermostats)

Selected Answer: D
D. Clients Explanation: In the context of a network, "clients" typically refer to the participating computers or devices that request services, resources, or data from other devices on the network. Clients are the end-user devices that interact with servers or other network resources to perform tasks such as accessing web pages, retrieving files, sending emails, or running applications. Option A (Nodes) is a more general term that can refer to any device connected to a network, including servers, routers, switches, and other network devices, in addition to client computers

All layer 2 and above devices are computers. Switches are computers, routers are computers, work stations are computers, etc. If they had used the term "Workstation" instead of "Computers" I would go with clients. But the term "Computers" is more general than "Workstations"

It's like people think that only desktops and laptops are computers and a server is not a computer

Selected Answer: A
Nodes: In a broader sense, "node" is a general term that refers to any device connected to a network. This can include devices that play various roles, such as servers, routers, switches, hubs, and even individual computers or devices like printers. A node is essentially any point of connection within a network, whether it's a device responsible for managing traffic (like routers and switches) or devices that consume resources (like computers and smartphones). Clients: Clients are a specific type of node in a network architecture. They are devices that request and consume services, data, or resources from other devices or servers on the network. Clients are typically end-user devices, such as computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets, or any device that accesses and interacts with resources provided by servers or other devices. Clients initiate requests to servers for services like web browsing, email, file sharing, and more.

Selected Answer: A
A is correct. B is incorrect because a central processing unit (CPU) is the piece of hardware that runs the calculations needed to operate the device. C and D are incorrect because they are a specific type of node. Clients request data from servers, and servers respond to clients. A participating computer in a network does not have to be a client or a server; the network could just be a simple peer-to-peer network in which everyone communicates with each other for data.

Selected Answer: A
Nodes are the devices or computers that are connected in a network and communicate with each other to share data and resources. Nodes can be workstations, servers, printers, routers, switches, or any other devices that are connected in a network. Each node in a network has a unique address or identifier that allows other nodes to locate and communicate with it. The other options listed, B. CPUs, C. Servers, and D. Clients, are specific types of nodes that can participate in a network. CPUs (Central Processing Units) are the hardware components of a computer that perform processing tasks, while servers and clients are software programs that allow computers to communicate with each other over a network. Servers provide services or resources to other nodes in the network, while clients consume these services or resources.

Selected Answer: A
A. Nodes Nodes refer to the participating computers or devices in a network. They connect to the network and can communicate with other nodes on the network. Nodes can include computers, servers, printers, and other devices. B. CPUs CPUs are the "brain" of a computer, they are not representing the participating computers in a network. C. Servers Servers are specialized computers or software that provide shared resources and services to other computers or devices on a network, but they are also considered as nodes. D. Clients Clients are computers or devices that connect to and request services from servers, but they are also considered as nodes.

A node is also a broader term that includes anything connected to a network, while a client requires an IP address. In other words, all clients are nodes, but network nodes are not clients unless they require an IP address to function.

A: Nodes Network nodes are the physical pieces that make up a network. They usually include any device that both receives and then communicates information. But they might receive and store the data, relay the information elsewhere, or create and send data instead.

why not D? Computers are clients right?

because servers are also computers? Node can be used to refer to anything on a network, and since the question isn't any more specific than that then if you picked C or D you would be leaving out the other.
