Which of the following must be functioning properly in order for a network administrator to create an accurate timeline during a troubleshooting process?
A. NTP (Network Time Protocol)
NTP ensures that the network devices, servers, and systems have synchronized and accurate time. Having accurate time synchronization across the network is essential for creating an accurate timeline of events during troubleshooting. It helps in correlating logs, events, and incidents that occurred across different devices or systems within the network.
NTP is responsible for synchronizing the time across devices in a network, and Syslog relies on accurate time stamps to create an accurate timeline. If the NTP service is not functioning correctly, then the time on the devices in the network may be out of sync, and the timestamps in Syslog messages may not be accurate.
it's important to ensure that the NTP service is functioning correctly when troubleshooting network issues that require an accurate timeline. By ensuring that the time on all devices in the network is in sync, network administrators can create an accurate timeline of events, making it easier to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of problems.
The function that must be functioning properly in order for a network administrator to create an accurate timeline during a troubleshooting process is A. NTP (Network Time Protocol).
NTP is a networking protocol that is used to synchronize the clocks of network devices to a reference time source. An accurate and synchronized clock is essential for creating an accurate timeline during a troubleshooting process. If the clocks of network devices are not synchronized, it can be difficult to correlate events and identify the sequence of events that led to a network issue.
The other options, B. IP helper, C. Syslog, and D. MySQL, are not directly related to creating an accurate timeline during a troubleshooting process. IP helper is used to forward DHCP and other broadcast traffic between subnets, Syslog is used for event logging and monitoring, and MySQL is a database
This jake guy just giving wrong answers be carefull, admin should do something
This is a hard one. But I am thinking that the network needs to (NTP) time synchronized first in order for the syslog reports to have the network devices and system reports within the appropriate millisecond accuracy of each other.
Why answer A is not correct?
Answer A is not correct because NTP (Network Time Protocol) is not related to creating an accurate timeline during a troubleshooting process. NTP is used to synchronize the time across multiple computers in a network.
Why anwer C is correct?
Answer C is correct because Syslog is used to store and analyze log messages from a variety of sources, including system events, security events, application events, and more. This information can be used to create an accurate timeline during a troubleshooting process.
If the NTP isn't functioning correctly the Syslog will also be off because it gets it's time from the NTP server as well. All of this relies on NTP working correctly to get an accurate timeline.
You do not always need a syslog server. It is very useful
