I agree with A and B. artifacting seems like something do do with the graphics/video card which may potentially mean drivers. Contrast settings can also affect "brightness" (try lowering contrast on your monitor right now), it will make your display dimmer.

Are you saying you chose A & B and the exam indicated you were correct? This is very concerning if we are being given the wrong answers on this website.

You are getting free access to real exam questions. The answers provided are a good start but don't expect to get 100% correct exam answers just handed to you. It's a study guide not an answer sheet. The advantage of the site is getting used to how CompTIA phrases questions and the way you need to think to find the answers. If you get to a question and you don't know the answer that shows you what areas you still need to study up on.

This question is a bit tricky. The word artifacts could mean a variety of things. Often it could mean dead pixels, or old images that aren't changing quickly, or bad resolution, or just relative visual issues. If the visual artifacts are dead pixels, it may be piece of the projector needing to be replaced. Contrast should help with brightness and the aspect ratio will allow it to fit the screen correctly. Projectors are a normal job encounter though so make sure to document what projectors you have, how often bulbs need to be replaced, and what vendor you go through as they'll probably need maintanence once or twice a year in high-use settings.

The correct answer is A&E because when a different laptop is connected to the projector, the IMAGE APPEARS TO BE CORRECT but is very DIM.” So the image is in focus and doesn’t need (B) adjustment to contrast or (D) change the aspect ratio or (F) modify the display resolution. The problem is 1) the original laptop displays artifacts – solution: update drivers — and 2) the image is very dim: solution: install a new bulb.

A. Update the video drivers on the laptop: Outdated or incompatible video drivers can cause display issues and artifacts. Updating the video drivers to the latest version can help resolve compatibility issues and improve the display performance. E. Replace the bulb in the projector: A dim image on the projector can be indicative of a failing or worn-out projector bulb. Over time, projector bulbs lose brightness and need to be replaced. Installing a new bulb can restore the brightness and improve the image quality.

Artifacts are usually caused by advanced video features So its hard to say weather the answer is A or D for that,The option for the dim-ness is obviously B no doubt.

B&D are the right answers. Professor Messer explained both clearly. Video Title: Troubleshooting Video and Display Issues - CompTIA A+ 220-1001 - 5.4. Answer B, change contrast to remedy dimness. Answer D, Change the ratio in order to get rid of artifacts on the screen.

I don´t agree with D) because the artifact problem doesn´t occur on other laptops.

After analizing the question i ended up agreeing with the answer, remember compTIA is very specific about giving you the easy analysis to confuse you, of course AB or AE sounds more logic, but i will try FIRST AS THE FOLLOWING STEP change the projector aspect ratio since it can be configured differently from the laptops output display.

I am taking demo exams on a course I got in online (paid) and a similar question came stating the answer to a dim projector light is: "change the bulb". So I would say E (change bulb) would be the correct answer, (unless changing the contrast would be considered a cheaper non-invasive solution). As for the second answer, "A" would make the most sense as that would solve the artifacts issue on the laptop! My exam is in a few hours so I'm really just sitting here, going through these questoins scared shitless from all this confusion!

The question states that the picture is correct but dim. Why would I need to change the aspect ratio or resolution if the picture is correct?

The answer is correct, the artifacts issue has already been solved by connecting a different laptop. The issue to be solved is the dimness (picture quality) which can be solved by the chosen answers.

I disagree, they say "these issues" so they have to mean both the laptop and projector. So i'd say the answer is A and E, A for the artifacts being displayed and E for the projector being dim.
