  • A. The client DHCP scope is fully utilized.
  • B. The wired network is experiencing electrical interference.
  • C. The captive portal is down and needs to be restarted.

Selected Answer: A
Answer A is the most likely cause of the issue because if the DHCP scope is fully utilized, it means there are no more available IP addresses for new devices to receive and connect to the network. This could prevent internal users from connecting to network resources. B. The wired network experiencing electrical interference is a possible issue but is unlikely the main cause in this scenario as it only affects wired connections. C. The captive portal being down may prevent users from accessing the Internet, but it would not prevent them from connecting to internal network resources. D. SNMP traps being received may indicate network activity, but it would not prevent users from connecting to network resources. E. A high packet counter on the router interface may indicate network activity, but it would not prevent users from connecting to network resources.

This question is complicated. lets start with the obvious and drop BDE. B cause it that case connection would be inconsistent. DE should have no affect and are unlikely given no changes were made. The problem with A and C is complex. Where are the network resources? If there on a separate VLAN then even with APPIPA you still won't be able to access the data internally. Captive portal can be the answer in the sense that that you need to restart the router. Though they never said Wi-Fi being used. Also they used the phrase "some internal users" not all internal users. This can imply that if you had an IP address your good and if your looking for one you're not as there exhausted. So i think A in the answer.

Right? Another brilliant questions. So, I am going to go with A here as the MOST likely reason, although I'd certainly admit, in the context of this question, there are issues. First, network resources can be set to only accept connections from certain IPs or a range, so an APIPA address wouldn't necessarily "fix" that. But then, you think the question would state something like "a bunch of new devices had been added to the network blah blah blah... " and that's not the case here, at least not that it mentions. On top of that, there's no mention of anything external. I'd go with A with no degree of certainty...

Once again a very brilliant question. I don't think it's A because they would be able to communicate internally with APIPA. The most obvious would be C

I´d say A as well because the other options doesn't make sense for this, but this is a poor question. It says there has not been changes on the network, and if the users were able to connect last week why today the DHCP scope is fully utilized? and not the last week? Do we have more users connecting this week?

Shouldn't it B? It does not say wireless to rule out B. And DHCP exhaustion results in APIPA, which allows internal communication.

I feel like if it were B, you would be able to connect but have a poor connection

This question is complicated, but A. is wrong answer. DHCP scope fully utilized would result in APIPA address (also called "link-local") and that allows to access internal resources.

They can communicate with each other not to others. I think the right choice is DHCP scope exhaustion. Mainly because the captive portal is not always used for employees but for guests. All these assumptions. What are these people smoking
